Luis Castillo Bumped Back To Friday
6 months agoThe Seattle Mariners have called up right-hander Emerson Hancock from Triple-A Tacoma to make the start in the series finale against the visiting Chicago White Sox on Thursday, which has bumped right-hander Luis Castillo's next start to Friday against the division-rival Texas Rangers. Hancock is going to give the rotation a bit of a breather with just one off day in the next 14 days, and it's unclear if Bryan Woo (arm) will be able to make his next start. Castillo's fantasy managers will surely be bummed that he's missing out on an excellent matchup at home against the worst team in baseball by far. Instead, he'll get a Rangers team that comes into Thursday's action ranked 17th in OPS (.687) and just 25th in strikeouts. Castillo allowed a season-high five earned runs in five innings in a loss to the Royals his last time out, but he picked up a win and a quality start with six K's against Texas on April 25.
