Tyrone Tracy Jr. 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Week-To-Week With Low-Right Ankle Sprain
4 months agoThe New York Giants selected Purdue RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) in the fifth round (No. 167 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. A converted wide receiver, Tracy brings a lot of natural pass-catching ability and upside to the Giants' backfield. He is a slightly older prospect at 24 years old after spending six years in college, but we know how much of a cheat code that pass-catching backs can be for fantasy. Devin Singletary is the Giants' starting RB but is a pretty clear downgrade from RB Saquon Barkley, who is now in Philadelphia. There's no need to get overly excited about Tracy, but he has a chance to be the team's primary change-of-pace back while competing against RB Eric Gray in training camp. Update: (08/14/24) Tracy suffered a sprained right ankle during practice. He was diagnosed with a low right ankle sprain and is week-to-week. His status for Week 1 is in doubt, and any missed time would lead to an uptick in Gray's snaps. Tracy should be back soon and is a high-upside stash in most leagues.
