Jase McClellan 2024 Outlook: Potential RB3 In Ascending Atlanta Offense
6 months agoAtlanta Falcons running back Jase McClellan will not begin his rookie campaign on the fantasy football radar, but assuming he makes the Week 1 roster, he could be worth stashing in ultra-deep leagues. The former Alabama ball carrier needs to beat out Avery Williams to back up Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier, which is well within his range of outcomes. A sixth-round rookie is far from a lock to have a real role in Year 1, and he would likely only enter the fantasy radar if one or both of the Falcons' lead backs get injured. McClellan averaged 5.6 yards per carry, caught 40 passes, and scored 24 touchdowns in four years with the Crimson Tide, but his 4.57 40-yard dash time left a lot to be desired in the pre-draft process, and he joined one of the strongest running back rooms in the NFL. Fantasy managers who play in shallow leagues can likely ignore him altogether this season.
