Joey Ortiz Still Absent Wednesday
6 months agoMilwaukee Brewers infielder Joey Ortiz (hamstring) is out of the starting lineup again on Wednesday as the team takes on the visiting Toronto Blue Jays. Although he doesn't think his right-hamstring injury is very serious, he'll head to the bench for the second straight game. With Ortiz out again, rookie Oliver Dunn is getting the start at the hot corner and is batting eighth against Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. In his first 40 big-league games in 2024, Dunn is hitting .226 (21-for-93) with only one homer, seven RBI and three steals. He'll be a low-upside deep DFS sleeper on Wednesday. Ortiz, meanwhile, has looked pretty good in his first year with the Brew Crew, as he's currently slashing .285/.378/.465 with an .843 OPS, five home runs, 23 RBI and four stolen bases in his first 59 games played. Check back later this week to see if Ortiz is feeling good enough to return to the lineup.
