Kenta Maeda Cleared To Start Tuesday
6 months agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Kenta Maeda (abdomen) has been cleared to start on Tuesday versus the visiting Washington Nationals. Maeda left his last start last Wednesday against the Texas Rangers after just two pitches due to right-abdominal discomfort, but the veteran hurler recovered nicely this weekend and will not be forced to miss a turn through Detroit's rotation. Fantasy managers will want to avoid the 36-year-old for his start against Washington, though. Maeda hasn't been very healthy this year and has had poor results when he's been on the mound, going 2-2 with a 6.25 ERA (5.85 FIP) and 1.41 WHIP with a 30:12 K:BB in 40 1/3 innings and 10 starts. In his start before getting hurt on June 5, Maeda allowed five earned runs in a loss to the Boston Red Sox on May 31.
