Luis Robert Jr. Getting A Day Off
6 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. will take the day off on Saturday against the visiting Boston Red Sox. With Robert on the bench for this game, Oscar Colas will cover center field and bat sixth, while Zach DeLoach draws into the lineup in right field and will man the two-hole against Red Sox right-hander Brayan Bello. After a lengthy stay on the injured list due to a hip injury, Robert returned to the White Sox's lineup on Tuesday and has gone 3-for-16 with two home runs, two RBI and eight strikeouts in four games. The 26-year-old Cuban slugger showed his upside last year by making his first All-Star team and setting career-highs in home runs (38), RBI (80) and stolen bases (20) in 145 games. Robert has some of the best raw power in the game, but he has had a tough time staying healthy, as 2023 was the first time in four seasons he played over 100 games.
