Brandon Williamson Returned From Rehab Assignment
6 months agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Brandon Williamson (shoulder) has been returned from his minor-league rehab assignment, which has now been stopped. Manager David Bell said on Thursday that Williamson is "still working his way back" from his shoulder injury. It's not exactly clear if the 26-year-old southpaw had a setback with his shoulder injury or if the Reds are just giving him a break, but either way, it's going to delay his potential return to Cincinnati's big-league starting rotation. In his last rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday, Williamson allowed just one hit over four shutout innings. In four total rehab starts, he's allowed just one earned run on seven hits while walking three and fanning 11 in 13 2/3 frames. If Williamson has suffered a setback, he's not going to be an option for the Reds until after the All-Star break in mid-July.
