Ryan O'Hearn Sitting Against A Southpaw
6 months agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman/designated hitter Ryan O'Hearn will head to the bench for Thursday's series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays with a lefty on the mound. Adley Rutschman will get a break from catching and will be the DH while batting second, with James McCann catching and batting eighth against Blue Jays left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. O'Hearn has a hit in two career at-bats against Kikuchi, but he's faced lefties just 10 times in 2024 and has one hit to show for it. The switch-hitting Rutschman will be a popular DFS pick on Thursday given his success against southpaws from the right side of the plate and given his .400 average with two home runs and four RBI in 20 career at-bats against Kikuchi. The former first overall pick in 2019 out of Oregon State is proving to be one of the best hitters in the league this year, not just at the catching position.
