Termarr Johnson Breaking Out Of Prolonged Slump
6 months agoPittsburgh Pirates second base prospect Termarr Johnson has begun to break out of a two-month slide. In his past 12 games, the former number four overall pick is riding a .273/.385/.568 line with three long balls, nine RBI, three stolen bases, and a 7:12 BB:K ratio. Before this stretch, he held a poor .171/.372/.248 line with just one home run through the first 36 games of the season. This is Johnson's second stint with High-A, as he played 30 games at this level last summer. The 19-year-old is currently the number two prospect in the Pittsburgh system, only behind Paul Skenes, who is due to "graduate" from prospect status very soon. Johnson could contend for a major league promotion sometime next summer and is worth stashing in dynasty leagues once he reaches Double-A.
