Ranger Suarez Still Trending To Start This Weekend
6 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (hand) played catch on Tuesday and is still trending to make his next start this weekend in London against the division-rival New York Mets. "It looks good so far," manager Rob Thomson said. Suarez is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday, and if he comes out of that with more thumbs up, he should be cleared to start this weekend. The 28-year-old southpaw left his last start early on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals after he was hit by a line drive on his left (pitching) hand. It's not a serious injury, though, and fantasy managers should be ready to start Suarez this weekend. The Venezuelan hurler has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in 2024, leading the league in wins (nine), ERA (1.70), WHIP (0.79) and hits allowed per nine innings (5.2).
