Corbin Carroll Absent From Tuesday's Lineup
6 months agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is retreating to the bench on Tuesday against the visiting division-rival San Francisco Giants with a left-hander on the bump. On Monday, the D-backs moved the struggling Carroll down to the eighth spot in the batting order. It's been tough going for last year's National League Rookie of the Year in 2024. The former 16th overall pick in 2019 is currently hitting .192 (43-for-224) with two homers, a league-leading four triples, six doubles, 20 RBI, nine stolen bases and 51 strikeouts in 58 games this year. Until he shows some life at the plate, the Snakes plan to hit him near the bottom of their lineup against southpaws. Since May 13 in a span of 19 games, Carroll has gone 12-for-70 (.171) with no homers, six RBI and 20 strikeouts. Randal Grichuk draws into the lineup in right field and will bat fifth on Tuesday.
