Saquon Barkley 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook - Talented Tailback Set To Turn Back Time
6 months agoSaquon Barkley has quickly turned himself into a villain by leaving the New York Giants to join the rival Philadelphia Eagles, however, fantasy football success requires managers to put personal feelings and biases aside, and it is clear as day that Barkley is going to be a fantasy juggernaut behind the vaunted Eagles offensive line. Barkley has been relatively disappointing in the NFL besides his stellar rookie campaign, however, managers can toss most of it out the window because he is in the best situation of his career. On the Giants, Barkley was the focal point of the offense, behind a perennially awful offensive line, and had mediocre talent around him which failed to take any of the pressure off. Last season, he finished second in stuffed runs (62) and 57th in run-blocking rating (15.1). It was bad. Now, he gets to run behind the best offensive line in the league, has a running quarterback to keep the boxes light, and has elite receiving threats on the outside in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. He should also be heavily used at the goal line since the Eagles have to reduce their usage of the "tush-push" if they want to extend Jalen Hurts' career. The only question with Barkley is whether or not he can stay healthy, and if he does, we are looking at a 1,200-yard 10-touchdown floor. He is currently being drafted in the second round at RB7, behind both Jahmyr Gibbs and Kyren Williams, and hopefully, it will continue throughout the offseason because Barkley should easily finish ahead of both of them if he can stay on the field. He should be drafted no later than RB5, behind only Christian McCaffery, Breece Hall, Bijan Robinson, and Jonathan Taylor.
