Carson Hocevar Records Career-Best Cup Finish At St. Louis
6 months agoCarson Hocevar placed eighth in this weekend's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. Starting from the 20th position, Hocevar and his Spire Motorsports No. 77 team struggled to move forward at first as he failed to advance past his start position at the end of the first stage. During the second stage, Hocevar and his team effectively used pit strategy while having a fast enough car compared to the field to place eighth and score stage points at the end of the second stage. Hocevar maintained his top-10 track position even among multiple green flag pit stops in the final stage to obtain a new Cup Series career-best finish and his second top-10 result of the year. With the Cup Series heading to Sonoma next, The driver of the No. 77 Chevrolet will make his first Cup appearance at the site where he placed sixth in his only Truck Series race there in 2022.
