One and Done Selections - the Memorial Tournament
In this feature, our golf staff of Joe Nicely, Spencer Aguiar, Joe Idone, Matt Miller, Byron Lindeque, and our special guest will provide their weekly golf picks every Wednesday. The purpose of this article is to present you with alternative options to consider and hopefully make your selection a much easier process weekly. With that plan in mind, let's get started!
Joe Nicely - Max Homa
The public is probably a little bit down on Max Homa at the moment following a forgettable T35 at the PGA Championship and a missed cut at the Charles Schwab the following week. However, I'm willing to stick with the Californian here, as his form hasn't just magically disappeared, not to mention he's historically thrived on the toughest courses on the PGA Tour schedule.
As for Muirfield Village specifically, Homa has gone T5-T6 across his last two Memorial starts, gaining a combined 9.6 strokes T2G in those two outings at Jack's place. It's fair to say that his recent statistical output isn't as impressive as some of the other heavy hitters in this field but I'm willing to hop on the proven performer while leaving myself some other options available for next week’s U.S. Open.

Spencer Aguiar - Tommy Fleetwood
Alternate - Keegan Bradley
I have run out of players near the top of this board, but I do like Fleetwood's contrarian potential if you want to get different.
The Englishman ranked inside the top five of my model for projected strokes gained around the green and cracked the top 15 of projected scorers at this challenging Muirfield track.
Yearly Earnings - $6,675,699
Yearly Cuts Made - 17/20
Byron Lindeque - Keegan Bradley
I am obsessed with Keegan Bradley’s last eight rounds of golf off the tee! He is part of a group of guys who have gained 12+ strokes off the tee in 8 consecutive rounds of golf. The names like McIlroy, Champ, Bryson, Rahm and Scheffler have been historically elite drivers of the ball and to string together a run like this requires ridiculous repetition as you only get 14 opportunities to gain strokes OTT vs 18 on APP (roughly).
Keegan’s 2nd place at the Charles Schwab is another reason things seem to be bubbling for the Boston baller who will be looking to get a jump start on his Ryder Cup ambitions of 2025 with an early win at a golf course that really suits his skill set right now.
