Miles Sanders 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Falling Further Down Carolina's RB Depth Chart
6 months agoA former Pro Bowl player, Miles Sanders was a significant free-agent acquisition for the Carolina Panthers last season. The former Philadelphia Eagles signed a four-year, $25.4 million contract with Carolina the previous offseason. However, his transition didn't go as planned, and he was relegated to a backup role behind Chuba Hubbard over the second half of the season. Sanders rushed for 432 yards and a touchdown while catching 27 passes for 154 yards over 16 games in 2023. This drastic change in his status raises the question of Sanders reclaiming his fantasy relevance. Sanders' efficiency (3.35 yards per carry in 2023 and one touchdown) was poor, and his volume did not do him any favors (only 129 rush attempts in 16 games). It's fair to say that the season was a disaster for him and the Panthers. With the return of Hubbard and the arrival of Texas rookie RB Jonathon Brooks (drafted in the second, 46th overall), the competition for Sanders looks even bleaker. The fact that they used such a high draft pick on Brooks further clouds Sanders' outlook. His days as a lead back seem over in Carolina. Sanders has a current ADP of RB90 but a RotoBaller RB ranking of 59, making him a dart throw in the best ball and deep leagues.
