2024 Fantasy Football Rookie Drafts - Should I Draft Xavier Worthy or Keon Coleman?

Keon Coleman- Fantasy Football Rankings, College FB, WR, NFL Draft Sleepers

In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs made a trade with the Buffalo Bills to move up in the first round and drafted wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Despite facing criticism for trading down with the Chiefs, the Bills doubled down on their decision as they traded out of the first round to select Keon Coleman with the 33rd overall pick.

The Bills lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this past offseason, and many expected them to be aggressive in the draft to find a new WR1. Instead, the AFC East franchise opted to go with Coleman, and the Florida State product is expected to have a big role on the team.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, get Worthy, who recently broke the record for the fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. As both Coleman and Worthy are exciting players, who should fantasy football managers look to get in fantasy football dynasty rookie drafts? Let's take a closer look at both of them.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2024 fantasy football drafts:

Xavier Worthy Fantasy Football Outlook

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Xavier Worthy with the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Texas product has explosive speed and is projected to play a similar role to Tyreek Hill in the future for the Super Bowl champions.

However, given that he weighed only 165 pounds at the NFL Combine, there is a possibility that Worthy will take time in adjusting to life in the NFL. There is no denying that he has immense talent and could become a huge player for the Chiefs in years to come, but expecting to have a similar impact as Rashee Rice had in his rookie season could be a little unfair.

In his last year with Texas, the 5-foot-11 receiver had 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and scored five touchdowns. The Chiefs signed Marquise Brown in free agency and recently offered an extension to Travis Kelce as well. As a result, it wouldn't be a surprise if Worthy takes a backseat for a year or two for the Chiefs before he ultimately takes off and becomes their go-to guy.

Keon Coleman Fantasy Football Outlook

Keon Coleman has certainly made a good impression on Bills fans with his first few interviews for the team. The Florida State wide receiver slid into the second round of this year's draft, but he will be more than happy to play alongside a quarterback like Josh Allen.

During his last year in college, Coleman had 50 receptions for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns. Although he is not one of the fastest receivers in the league, Coleman's big frame allows him to make big plays with contested catches, a trait that will be highly successful while playing alongside Allen.

As mentioned above, the Bills lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this offseason. They did sign Curtis Samuel, but there is no clear-cut WR1 on the team. Coleman has the ability to become their WR1 in his rookie year itself, which makes him a great player to add to your team in dynasty leagues.

Should I Draft Worthy or Coleman in Fantasy Football?

Both Coleman and Worthy are very exciting players and will probably have great careers in the NFL. However, for the first few years, I expect the Bills wide receiver to play a bigger role on his team than the Texas product.

Xavier Worthy will be behind the likes of Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, and Marquise Brown for the first few years of his career, while Coleman can become the new Stefon Diggs for Josh Allen in Buffalo.

It will be better to draft Keon Coleman, as he will likely have more production than Worthy and could potentially become a true WR1 for the Bills for years to come.
