7 months agoBaltimore Orioles catcher/first base prospect Samuel Basallo went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and solo home run for Double-A Bowie on Sunday. The 19-year-old has been off to a good start this season and is hitting .253 with three homers and eight RBI over his first 79 at-bats. Even at a young age, Basello has hit the ball very hard and has elite-level exit velocities. He also has shown good plate discipline and that helps him make good contact at the dish. Defense has never been Basallo's strong suit and he has started to shift from catcher to first base this season. Dynasty managers should consider Basallo, but those in redraft leagues can avoid the young bat with it very unlikely that he will make an impact at the big-league level in 2024.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
