Anthony Volpe Goes A Perfect 4-For-4 Monday
8 months agoNew York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe was clearly feeling better on Monday after he was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a stomach illness. In the 5-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, the young shortstop went 4-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. It was the 22-year-old's second multi-hit game of the 2024 season and his fourth extra-base hit in his last three games. While it would be nicer if the former first-rounder (30th overall) were hitting higher in the Yankees' lineup, fantasy managers can't really complain with the second-year player's production out of the gates. Through four games, he's gone 8-for-14 (.571) with a homer, three RBI and a team-leading five runs scored in 18 plate appearances.
