Guardians Have Uninspiring Mix In Right Field
10 months agoThe Cleveland Guardians have an uninspiring mix of outfielders Ramon Laureano, Will Brennan and Deyvison De Los Santos competing for the right field job this year. De Los Santos has massive power, but he's only 20 years old and has not logged an at-bat at Triple-A and has plenty of swing and miss in his game. He's a natural third baseman and can also play first, but the Guardians have him working in both corner outfield spots in camp. He could fit well in right field if his bat is ready, but it would be a big leap for the youngster. It's more likely that De Los Santos will be used as a reserve who can play both corner outfield spots and both corner infield spots. "The power is real," manager Stephen Vogt said. The Rule 5 pick probably needs more development before he becomes a realistic fantasy option.
