10 months agoThe Baltimore Orioles claimed infielder/outfielder Diego Castillo off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday and designated infielder Livan Soto for assignment in a corresponding move. Castillo continues to be passed around the league this offseason, as the Orioles mark the fifth different team he's been with this offseason alone. The 26-year-old Venezuelan is hoping he stays put for the 2024 season, and if that's the case, he'll likely begin the year at Triple-A Norfolk. He played in just one game with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023 after hitting .206/.251/.382 with 11 home runs, 29 RBI and 28 runs scored in 96 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates in his rookie campaign in 2022.
