Jasson Dominguez 2024 Player Outlook: Tommy John Surgery Clouding Outlook
10 months agoNew York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez made his presence felt in his brief big-league debut in 2023, slugging four home runs in just eight games and 33 trips to the plate. He spent the bulk of his season in Double-A where he hit .254 with 15 HR and 37 stolen bases across 109 games, producing a much milder .160 isolated power in the process. However, a September elbow injury required Tommy John surgery, and Dominguez was given a 9-10 month recovery timetable, putting him out until at least mid-season. The Yankees made no bones about upgrading their outfield in the offseason in trades for the Padres' Juan Soto and Trent Grisham and former Red Sox rival Alex Verdugo. They now have four legitimate big-league outfielders on the roster. Even with a healthy return, it's uncertain how many at-bats will be available for the 21-year-old at the MLB level. Dynasty managers would be wise to draft and stash at a 533.36 ADP but redraft managers would be wise to look elsewhere within that range.
