Colts Pleasantly Surprised By Anthony Richardson As A Passer
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder) only played in four games in his first year in the NFL in 2023 due to a shoulder injury that eventually required season-ending surgery, but in that small sample size he managed to impress the team with his throwing ability, which had been a question mark coming into the draft. "Here's this big, talented athlete. I mean, this guy is a legitimate passer, and I believe that. I think he's going to continue to get better and improve the more he plays. But Anthony can play from the pocket and throw the ball accurately," general manager Chris Ballard said. Richardson threw a catchable pass on 85.7% of his 84 pass attempts, which align with Brock Purdy's numbers for the full season. Despite only playing in four games his rookie year, Richardson is going to be an attractive QB1 with upside heading into fall fantasy drafts.
