11 months agoWinnipeg Jets center Mark Scheifele (lower body) will miss his first game of the season on Saturday against Philadelphia. After getting hurt in Thursday's 2-1 win over Chicago, Scheifele was initially considered a game-time decision for the clash, but he won't play. With Scheifele out, Winnipeg will be without its top scorer, as Scheifele has notched 41 points (14 goals, 27 assists) across 41 games. Adam Lowry stepped up from a third-line role to replace Scheifele on Thursday, although switching Gabriel Vilardi to center is another option for the Jets, who will look for a franchise-record-extending ninth consecutive win on Saturday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
