Pyotr Kochetkov Sustains An Upper-Body Injury
11 months agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Ducks. He was forced to exit the contest in the second period after Kochetkov was involved in a collision with Anaheim forward Isac Lundestrom. In 33:56 of action, Kochetkov had 10 saves on 13 shots. Antti Raanta finished the game between the sticks, saving all three shots he faced. After getting waived and assigned to the AHL, Raanta was brought back to the big club late last month, and Kochetkov's absence could give him an extended opportunity to re-cement his position in the big league. The veteran has made three appearances since rejoining the Hurricanes, producing a .913 save percentage.
