Cubs, Red Sox In Play For Shota Imanaga
11 months agoThe Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox are seen as very much in play for Japanese left-hander Shota Imanaga. The San Francisco Giants are another possible landing spot among five different suitors. At the moment, the Los Angeles Angels appear to be looking elsewhere for pitching. The Red Sox have also been seen as long shots to land Imanaga, according to MassLive's Chris Cotillo. The Giants might have the best shot at Imanaga. They recently traded for left-hander Robbie Ray (elbow), but he won't be ready until sometime in the second half of 2024 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. The 30-year-old Imanaga has until this Thursday to sign with a big-league team before his 45-day posting window closes.
