Padres Agree With Woo Suk Go On Two-Year Deal
11 months agoThe San Diego Padres and free-agent Korean reliever Woo Suk Go agreed to a two-year, $4.5 million contract on Wednesday, according to a source. The deal includes a mutual option for the 2026 season. The 25-year-old will join left-hander Yuki Matsui and right-hander Robert Suarez at the back of the Padres' bullpen in 2024 with the team letting former closer Josh Hader walk in free agency. Go has been one of the best closers in the Korean Baseball Organization the last seven years, recording 139 saves and 401 strikeouts in 368 1/3 innings for the LG Twins. Given his experience, Go could enter spring training as the favorite for the Padres' closer role, which will make him attractive in all fantasy formats in his first year in the States.
