Mason Rudolph Officially Named Week 17 Starter
12 months agoPittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin officially named Mason Rudolph the starting quarterback for Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Kenny Pickett (ankle) is nearing full health after requiring surgery for a sprained ankle, but the Steelers have elected to go with the hot hand and keep Rudolph as the starter under center after they beat the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals convincingly last Saturday. Rudolph went 17-for-27 in Week 16 for 290 yards and two touchdowns without any turnovers. If the 28-year-old plays well again against Seattle and picks up another win, it's possible the Steelers stick with Rudolph over Pickett heading into their Week 18 regular season finale against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. While Rudolph did look good last weekend, he should still be considered more of a desperation QB2 in superflex leagues in Week 17.
