Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco marked his return to action in Week 16 after a two-game absence. He was sidelined due to a shoulder injury but immediately made an impact for his team upon his return.
However, things didn't go according to plan for the running back and his team. In the Chiefs' 20-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, Pacheco suffered an injury and didn't return due to a concussion.
How serious is his injury? Will he play in Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals? Let's take a look at his injury update.

Isiah Pacheco Latest Injury Update - December 31
Isiah Pacheco (concussion) has cleared the league's concussion protocol. That being said, Pacheco is expected to suit up for the Week 17 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Chiefs could certainly use his help as they find themselves in danger of losing the divisional title. The expectation is that Pacheco will resume his role as the workhorse back in the offense. Fantasy managers should wait until the official word, but they should be able to plug Pacheco back in their lineups on Sunday.
Isiah Pacheco Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Isiah Pacheco suffered a head injury in Week 16 as his head collided with one of his teammates' knees after he lost his helmet while getting tackled. He is likely to get placed in the concussion protocol and is currently designated as questionable for the next game.
It is highly unlikely that he will play in Week 17, as concussion protocol will be hard to clear in such a short span. The Chiefs are already without Jerick McKinnon, and the injury to Pacheco has come at a very bad time for the team.
The reigning Super Bowl champions fell to 9-6 after their loss to the Raiders and need to get back on track quickly. Unfortunately, they'll have to work things out without their star running back.
Isiah Pacheco Fantasy Football Outlook
Before exiting the game against the Raiders, Isiah Pacheco had 26 rushing yards on 11 carries with a touchdown. His season tally improved to 805 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, and 187 carries in 13 games.
In a season where the Chiefs' passing game regressed drastically, Pacheco still has had a pretty good year. He could have finished the regular season with 1,000 rushing yards, but injuries haven't helped him.
The Chiefs will hope the Rutgers product will be fully healthy for the playoffs. As for the people who had him on their fantasy football teams, unfortunately Pacheco is unlikely to contribute in Week 17.
