Bears Receivers Backing Justin Fields
12 months agoChicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields got the support from teammates after the team's 20-17 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 15 on Sunday, which dropped them to 5-9 with a 3% chance to make the playoffs. Fields went 19-for-40 for 166 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions (both on Hail Mary attempts). "Justin is the quarterback of the future," receiver Darnell Mooney said. "He's this franchise's quarterback. He's been balling. I don't understand why it's any more questions of that." The Bears currently have the first overall pick in 2024 and could decide to move on from Fields as their franchise signal-caller after this season. USC's Caleb Williams and North Carolina's Drake Maye could be options to replace Fields as the future under center in Chicago if the Bears decision-makers don't like what they see from Fields over the final three games of 2023.
