Russell Wilson Underwhelms In Primetime Loss To Lions
12 months agoDenver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson threw a touchdown and avoided interceptions in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions, but he also had a costly fumble in the 42-17 blowout loss on Saturday evening. All in all, he went 18-for-32 for 223 yards passing and also ran the ball seven times for six yards and an additional touchdown. The 35-year-old's lone touchdown pass went to Lil'Jordan Humphrey three yards out, and his TD scamper came on a one-yard sneak at the goal line in the fourth quarter with the game well out of hand. If not for garbage time with the team down multiple scores, Wilson probably wouldn't have topped 200 yards passing. Wilson has been great at avoiding turnovers in 2023, but his passing ceiling hasn't been very high, and that will probably continue in a Week 16 matchup at home against the New England Patriots on Christmas Eve next week.
