BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE1
ANALYSIS: Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been the TE1 almost every year of his career since Patrick Mahomes took over under center. Kelce is currently the TE3 this season, averaging 13.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. While fantasy players haven’t gotten the overall TE1 production that fantasy players had hoped for when spending a first-round draft pick on the tight end, Kelce remains a fantasy superstar.
The tight end leads the Chiefs in almost every receiving category imaginable. Despite playing through injuries, Kelce remains Mahomes’ go-to and favorite weapon on offense. He showed up for today’s game, but there is no word on whether the NFL’s new favorite obsession, Taylor Swift, will be in attendance for the contest. Therefore, fantasy players should think twice about starting Kelce.
All jokes aside, Kelce is a plug-and-play tight end every week. Today, he faces a New England Patriots defense that has held tight ends to only 6.9 fantasy points per game, the fifth-fewest in the NFL. They have given up only one receiving touchdown to tight ends this season, back in Week 5.
Despite the unfriendly matchup, fantasy players would be crazy to bench the superstar tight end during the fantasy football playoffs.
