No Ligament Damage For Baker Mayfield
1 year agoTampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that the MRI exam on quarterback Baker Mayfield's ankle came back negative for ligament damage, but he's pretty sore on Monday after injuring his ankle on the opening drive of the 27-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Mayfield would return to the game and finish 20-for-30 for 199 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also fumbled twice, losing one. The 28-year-old may miss some practice time this week, but he figures to be fine to play in Week 13 against the Carolina Panthers, where he'll remain a midrange QB2 for fantasy managers in superflex leagues. Kyle Trask will be waiting in the wings as the backup in case Mayfield has a setback of some sort with his ankle this week.
