Angels Pick Barry Enright As Next Pitching Coach
12 months agoThe Los Angeles Angels announced on Tuesday that they have hired Barry Enright as their next pitching coach. The former Angels pitcher was formerly a pitching coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks for the last three seasons, most recently working as assistant pitching coach under Brent Strom. Enright joins new manager Ron Washington and his staff in Anaheim as they look to get the Halos back to the postseason for the first time since 2014. In 2023, the Angels ranked 23rd in baseball with a 4.64 ERA, 26th in WHIP (1.42), 22nd in opponents' batting average (.252) and 10th in strikeouts (1,445). The 37-year-old Enright held a 5.57 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in four major-league seasons with the Diamondbacks and Angels from 2010-13.
