Deshaun Watson Injury Update
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is headed to the Injured Reserve list after suffering a displaced fracture in his right glenoid in his shoulder against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10. The 28-year-old missed multiple games earlier this season due to shoulder injuries, and his season is now over. He finishes the 2023 campaign with 1,115 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, and four interceptions.
The Browns posted a 5-1 record in games in which Watson started. Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been named the new starting signal-caller. Expect Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, and David Njoku to see reduced fantasy value moving forward.
Justin Fields Injury Update
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) is expected to return from his four-game absence and start against the Detroit Lions in Week 11. Fields suffered a dislocated thumb during the Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and has been sidelined ever since. Before his injury, the third-year signal-caller was coming off overall QB1 and QB3 performances. He will have immediate upside against the Lions, who have surrendered the 10th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
Although his team will be outmatched, and he could have a low floor, he's probably worth starting in leagues of at least 12 teams. His fantasy upside rivals any player in the NFL due to his rushing prowess. UPDATE: Fields was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Joshua Dobbs Injury Update
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs (ankle) is on the Week 11 injury report with an ankle injury, but he was listed as a full participant in practice on Wednesday. Quarterbacks Jaren Hall (concussion) and Nick Mullens (back) were limited. Mullens is eligible to return from Injured Reserve and could become Dobbs' primary backup once he's activated. Dobbs was great in his first start with the Vikes in the Week 10 win over the New Orleans Saints, going 23-for-34 for 268 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions and a rushing score.
The 28-year-old has been a pleasant surprise in 2023 and will be even more attractive as a QB streamer with QB1 upside in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos if All-Pro wideout Justin Jefferson (hamstring) returns from Injured Reserve.
Will Levis Injury Update
Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (foot) practiced fully on Wednesday. The rookie signal-caller came down with a foot injury following his team's Week 10 loss but it appears that it will not be an issue as the Titans began preparing to face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11. Levis' debut back in Week 8 was impressive as he threw four touchdowns but he's struggled to get much going in the following two games as he hasn't thrown a touchdown pass since.
Fantasy gamers rostering Levis will want to keep an eye on practice reports on Thursday and Friday to make sure he doesn't suffer a setback but for now it appears that he will be fine for Week 11.
Tommy Devito Injury Update
New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that rookie quarterback Tommy Devito's shoulder is OK and he will make his second career start in Week 11 against the Washington Commanders. In his first career start last weekend against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys, DeVito predictably looked overmatched, going 14-for-27 for just 86 yards and an interception, although he did contribute two touchdown passes with the game well out of hand in the second half.
He also picked up 41 rushing yards on seven carries. The 25-year-old might be limited in practice early this week, but he will look for better results in a good matchup against Washington this Sunday. Still, DeVito is a last-gasp, low-end QB2 option in two-QB leagues. UPDATE: DeVito was limited in practice Wednesday.
