Rangers Expected To Be Aggressive In Free Agency
1 year agoAfter winning the first World Series title in franchise history this fall, the Texas Rangers are expected to be one of the biggest players on the free-agent market this offseason. "I expect the Rangers are going to be aggressive this offseason," Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports and The Athletic said on his weekly show, "Foul Territory." "They are going to be emboldened by their World Series triumph." Texas could be in play for two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani and closer Josh Hader. Hader would help shore up a Texas bullpen that had a 4.77 ERA (seventh-worst in MLB) during the regular season. A stacked starting rotation means the Rangers probably won't be as active in the starting pitching market, which means they are unlikely to make a big push to re-sign lefty Jordan Montgomery.
