Vaughn Grissom Could Be Moved To Left Field
1 year agoAtlanta Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos confirmed at the GM meetings this week that moving infielder Vaughn Grissom to left field for next year is an option that the team has discussed. Grissom has only played on the infield so far in his professional career at shortstop, second base and third base, but the Braves could be looking to increase his versatility as he heads into his third MLB campaign in 2024. The 22-year-old was a popular breakout candidate in Year 2 in 2023, but that didn't end up happening and he spent the majority of his time in the minors. He hit an impressive .330/.419/.501 in 468 plate appearances for Triple-A Gwinnett. In 23 games for Atlanta, he batted .280 (21-for-75) with no home runs, three doubles, a triple, nine RBI and five runs scored in 80 plate appearances. Adding outfield eligibility would make Grissom a more intriguing post-hype sleeper in fantasy.
