Experienced fantasy managers know to always hold onto rookies, especially a player like Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid. The Bills selected Kincaid with the 25th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and Buffalo actually moved up to draft the big playmaker.
It was only a matter of time before the rookie broke out in Buffalo's high-octane offense. In Week 7, Kincaid put together his best performance of his young career. More games like that could also be on the horizon with Dawson Knox (wrist) out for the foreseeable future.
Should I pick up Kincaid? What did he do in Week 7? Let's dive in.
What Did Dalton Kincaid Do In Week 7?
Kincaid might have finally had his breakout game in Week 7 against the New England Patriots. The 6-foot-4 rookie caught all eight of his targets for 75 yards on 61% of the team snaps in Buffalo's 29-25 loss on Sunday.
Not only did Kincaid see his highest target output this past weekend, but the rookie also played his most snaps (43) since Week 2. His eight catches and 75 yards were also career highs. His impressive showing in Week 7 helped him finish as the TE6 in half-PPR formats, his best finish of the season.
Kincaid was a weapon for the Bills on Sunday, and that should continue as the season goes on. Knox, who has taken playing time away from the rookie, is set to undergo surgery on his wrist -- opening the door for the developing tight end to get more snaps and opportunities on offense.
Is Dalton Kincaid A Good Fantasy Football Pickup For Week 8?
Kincaid will be a popular waiver wire pickup this week, and assuming he is still out there, he should be claimed in almost every format. The tight end position has been a struggle this season. So, adding a big-time playmaker on Buffalo's offense could really pay off for fantasy managers.
On top of his 15.5 PPR fantasy points in Week 7, Knox's injury should also help raise Kincaid's weekly floor. He's a talented rookie on one of the best offenses in the NFL, what more could you ask for?
Kincaid is a must-add this week in fantasy. Quarterback Josh Allen seems to already trust him on the field, and the tight end just led the Bills in catches and receiving yards last week. He should be a priority claim in 10-plus team leagues and even in eight-team formats.
