Gabe Kapler Interviews For Red Sox' Front-Office Position
1 year agoFormer San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies manager Gabe Kapler interviewed with the Boston Red Sox about leading their baseball operations department, according to major-league sources. The 48-year-old has spent the last six years managing -- two with Philadelphia and four with the Giants -- but he was fired by San Fran just days before the end of the regular season. Kapler worked in the Los Angeles Dodgers' front office as their farm director from 2014-17 before becoming a manager. He also played in the big leagues for 12 seasons from 1998-2010. Kapler joins Cubs assistant GM Craig Breslow, Twins GM Thad Levine and Guardians special assistant Neal Huntington as external candidates who have interviewed with the Red Sox.
