1 year agoBuffalo Sabres defenseman Mattias Samuelsson (upper body) has received the green light to play Thursday against Calgary. The Sabres finished Tuesday's 3-2 overtime victory versus the Lightning without him, but Samuelsson avoided serious injury and won't be forced to miss any games. The 23-year-old collected his first point of the season via an assist Tuesday, and he's also registered three shots on goal, seven blocks, and six hits with a plus-two rating in three games. Samuelsson will return to his usual role as Rasmus Dahlin's partner on the first defensive pairing.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
