Kyle Tucker Dropped To Sixth Spot Amid Slump
1 year agoHouston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker hasn't done much this postseason and has now been dropped to sixth in the batting order against right-hander Max Scherzer and the Texas Rangers for Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday evening. With Tucker moving down, veteran outfielder Michael Brantley, who is starting in left field, will move up to the two-hole behind leadoff man Jose Altuve. Tucker has gone hitless in eight at-bats in the first two games of the ALCS and has gone just 2-for-22 (.091) with a double, RBI, seven strikeouts and two runs scored in six playoff games this year. The 26-year-old lefty slugger will try to snap out of his funk against a future Hall of Famer, albeit one coming off a shoulder injury who hasn't pitched since mid-September. Tucker is 1-for-6 with an RBI, two walks and three K's in his career against Scherzer.
