For how harsh everyone has been on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, the veteran signal-caller deserves some props for his performance on Monday night football. He led a go-ahead drive in the final minutes to give Dallas a slight 20-17 lead, which eventually was enough to win.
Prescott looked sharp in Week 6, throwing and rushing for season-high numbers. That momentum will carry the 30-year-old quarterback into the Week 7 bye trending up.
Is that enough to keep Prescott on your fantasy roster? Should you drop him? Let's dive in.
What Did Dak Prescott Do In Week 6?
Following his three-interception game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, Prescott followed it up with his best performance of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6. He completed 21-of-30 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown while also running seven times for 40 yards and one score.
That performance was good enough to help Prescott finish as the QB1 in fantasy on the week. His 24.88 fantasy points outscored Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts' 22.9 fantasy points and Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's 22.48 fantasy points in Week 6.
It's about time Prescott delivered for fantasy managers after weeks of being a QB2 and nothing more. The Week 6 finish was the quarterback's first top-15 finish this season. Last year, he had finished eight times inside that mark, including five times inside the top-10.
Can I Drop Dak Prescott in Fantasy Football?
If you're in a two-quarterback or Superflex league, Prescott should not be dropped in any capacity in Week 7. In one-quarterback leagues, he's worth holding onto as well.
Unless you roster Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Hurts, or even Tagovailoa in one-quarterback leagues, Prescott is worth a roster spot on your fantasy team. With matchups against the Eagles – who actually rank in the bottom half of the league in pass yards allowed – New York Giants, Washington Commanders, and Seattle Seahawks in the coming weeks, some good matchups are on the horizon for the Cowboys quarterback.
Prescott has gotten off to a slow fantasy start this season, but his performance against the Chargers could build him momentum into Week 8. If you need a roster spot in one-quarterback leagues to pick up a running back with all the injuries, he's a fine drop then. There's also a chance you could get him back with Dallas on a bye this week.
