Bryce Harper Homers On His Birthday In Game 1 Win
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder/first baseman Bryce Harper had a pretty fun birthday (he turned 31) on Tuesday night in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in a 5-3 win. Harper joined Willie Aikens, Evan Longoria and Kolten Wong as the only players to homer on their birthdays in the playoffs. Harper has now gone deep four times this postseason and is slashing a red-hot .409/.567/.955 in 30 plate appearances with seven RBI, nine runs scored and eight walks. Dating back to 2022, the Phillies are now 9-0 when Harper hits a home run in a playoff game. "This guy, he's looking for the moment," teammate Kyle Schwarber said. "He wants it. He's doing such an unbelievable job for us."
