As we prepare for the Sunday of Week 6, many fantasy managers find themselves at a crossroads in the direction of their team. Some managers find themselves sitting at 3-2 or 2-3, clinging on to the hopes of clinching a playoff spot as bye weeks start to come full force. Making the correct starting lineup decisions and being mindful of matchups, injuries, volume, etc. are crucial for this middle stretch of the season.
How will Zack Moss fare in Week 6 with the return of Jonathan Taylor? What can we expect from Breece Hall against the ferocious Philadelphia Eagles defensive line?
Let’s dive in and assess if we should be starting or sitting these running backs ahead of Sunday’s games.

Should I Start Zack Moss for Fantasy Football?
Moss has been a big surprise name throughout the first few weeks of the season, as he has served as the de facto starting running back for the Colts while Jonathan Taylor spent time on the Physically Unable to Perform list with an ankle injury.
With the return of Jonathan Taylor in Week 5, Moss still saw the overwhelming majority of touches. He ran the ball 23 times for 165 yards and two touchdowns, as Taylor only saw six carries for 18 yards.
HC Shane Steichen has confirmed that Taylor will see an increased role in Week 6 as they square off against the Jacksonville Jaguars, so what should fantasy managers do with Moss?
We know that when fully healthy, Taylor is one of the best running backs in all of football. The 2021 NFL rushing leader will likely reclaim control of the Colts backfield in the coming weeks.
As for this week, the Colts will travel to face a divisional rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags have done a good job stopping the run up to this point in the season, allowing only 81.6 rushing yards per game. This is good for the fifth-fewest amongst teams this season.
With his potential volume loss amidst Taylor’s return, Moss does not make a case for a strong start in Week 6. While he will likely continue to have a role in this offense given his effectiveness over the past few weeks, managers are likely better off sitting him until we see what the spread of volume looks like amidst the two backs.
He is the RB27 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Breece Hall for Fantasy Football?
New York Jets running back Breece Hall was finally unleashed this past week, as the team has closely monitored his return to action this year as he recovered from an ACL tear suffered in the 2022 season.
Hall ran the ball 22 times for 177 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' win against the Denver Broncos, while adding in another three catches for 17 yards through the air.
Now, fantasy managers find themselves with a decision to make as he goes up against the league’s best rushing defense, the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles have torched opposing running backs this season, allowing only 61.2 rushing yards per game, the lowest of any team in the league.
Despite Hall’s matchup, he should still be included in lineups for Week 6. Hall’s explosiveness at 7.2 yards per carry is the second-highest amongst all running backs through five weeks.
In addition, we are also seeing Hall having some relevance in the passing game for the Jets. The Jets host the Eagles as seven-point underdogs, which may result in increased passing volume for New York as they hope to keep up with Philly’s high-powered offense. If that’s the case, Hall should see an additional uptick in receiving usage, making the case for him to be a starter in Week 6.
He is the RB16 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
