Jackson Holliday Will Have A Shot To Make Opening Day Roster
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles general manager Mike Elias said that shortstop prospect Jackson Holliday will be with the team in major-league spring training camp next year as he was in 2023, but he'll have a legitimate shot to make the Opening Day roster if he performs well. The 19-year-old is making a case quickly to join the major-league roster and he's already the top overall prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. Holliday was the first overall pick in 2022 and hit a combined .323/.442/.499 with a .941 OPS, 12 home runs, 30 doubles, nine triples, 75 RBI, 24 stolen bases and 113 runs scored in 125 games with Single-A Delmarva, High-A Aberdeen, Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk in 2023. The left-handed hitter is incredibly advanced at his age with his plate discipline and will surely grow into more power as he matures. Holliday should already be rostered in dynasty/keeper leagues.
