Brewers Optimistic About Brandon Woodruff's Availability For 2024
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) will get a second opinion on his injured right shoulder this week, but the team remains "optimistic" for his availability next year, according to general manager Matt Arnold. Woodruff was unavailable to pitch in the wild-card series against the Arizona Diamondbacks last week, and he might not have been available at all in the postseason this year had the Brew Crew advanced. Barring a setback with Woodruff this offseason, it sounds as though he has a good chance to be ready to go at some point in spring training in 2024. The 30-year-old two-time All-Star made only 11 starts due to injury in 2023, but he was great when on the mound, going 5-1 with a career-low 2.28 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 15 walks and 74 strikeouts in 67 innings pitched.
