Joe Ryan To Start Game 4 Of ALDS
1 year agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Joe Ryan has been named the starter for Game 4 of the American League Division Series on Wednesday against the Houston Astros. Ryan will be making his postseason debut in Wednesday's start after not being used in the two-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays in the wild-card series last week. The 27-year-old has the ability to miss bats, but he was inconsistent in his third major-league season, going 11-10 with a career-high 4.51 ERA (4.13 FIP), 1.17 WHIP, 34 walks and a career-high 197 strikeouts in 29 starts covering 161 2/3 innings. Ryan didn't fare well in his two starts against the Astros this year, either, allowing nine earned runs on seven hits (three home runs) while walking four and striking out 16 in 10 innings pitched.
