Josh Downs A Deeper Flex Play In Week 5
1 year agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs has continued to show flashes of his high-end speed and deep-threat abilities but hasn't been racking up fantasy points, as he went for only two catches and 34 yards in the team's overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The 22-year-old has gained the trust of rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, having the second-most targets (27) and yards (158) of all Colts pass-catchers. He'll find himself in a favorable matchup against a Tennessee Titans secondary allowing 241 yards a game, good for a bottom-10 spot in the league. Downs' big-play ability gives him some upside on a weekly basis, but his lack of consistent usage leaves him best as a flex option in some deeper leagues this week.
