Pablo Lopez Gets Game 2, Sonny Gray To Start Game 3
1 year agoMinnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli announced on Friday that right-hander Pablo Lopez will start Game 2 of the American League Division Series against the Houston Astros on Sunday, while right-hander Sonny Gray will get the ball for Game 3 on Tuesday. Gray got the win in Game 2 of the wild-card series against the Blue Jays on Wednesday by throwing five shutout innings with two walks and six K's. He picked up two no-decisions against Houston in the regular season and allowed only four earned runs while striking out 16 in 13 innings against them. Lopez bounced back in the Game 1 start in the wild-card series on Tuesday after a rough finish to the regular season, picking up the win while giving up an earned run in 5 2/3 frames with three strikeouts. The 27-year-old did not face the Astros in the regular season this year.
