Clayton Kershaw To Start Game 1 Of NLDS
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw has been named the Game 1 starter for the Dodgers in the National League Division Series at Dodger Stadium on Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Kershaw missed time in the regular season due to injury, but when he was healthy, he was great, going 13-5 with a 2.46 ERA (4.03 FIP), 1.06 WHIP, 40 walks and 137 strikeouts in 131 2/3 innings over his 24 starts. The 35-year-old future Hall of Fame southpaw faced the D-backs three times in the regular season, posting a 3.18 ERA and 1.12 WHIP against them with five walks and 18 K's in 17 innings. The 10-time All-Star, three-time Cy Young winner and former MVP might not be in his prime anymore, but he still has enough talent to shut down Arizona in the first game of the NLDS.
