Diamondbacks Give Extension To Mike Hazen
1 year agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a contract extension with general manager Mike Hazen on Wednesday, locking him up for a deal that is guaranteed through the 2028 season with a club option for an additional year, according to sources. Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed. The deal was worked out sometime in the last two weeks. Arizona also extended the contracts of assistant general managers Amiel Sawdaye and Mike Fitzgerald to deals of the same length. Hazen joined the D-backs in 2016 and led the team to the postseason in 2017 and again this year. He oversaw the drafting of outfielders Corbin Carroll and Alek Thomas and pitcher Brandon Pfaadt and acquired catcher Gabriel Moreno, ace Zac Gallen and second baseman Ketel Marte via trades.
